It also features good deals, resources, discount coupons and
available activities. I am a foodie and I like to try new place once in a
while. The Dining Section lists restaurant by area and cuisine. This particular
issue does not only showcase the “WHERE-TO’s” but also where to try exotic foods.
Sliced Pig Ears – I love pig ears. In the Philippines, I always
eat pig ears (those sold on the streets) dipped in spicy vinegar. The pinoy
style is better than this preparation.
Balut and Chicken Feet – these two are not considered exotic
for us Pinoys. I personally love these! I use to ask my mom to cook
me adobong paa ng manok.
Dry-Aged Beef – the meat is essentially left to rot in a
climate-controlled environment. As the beef rots, enzymes start to break down
long, flavorless molecules into shorter, tastier ones while dissolving
connective tissue, tenderizing the meat in wonderful ways. Aging meat also
dehydrates it and concentrates the flavor (excerpt from Metro).
Based on the description, I never thought that a rotten meat
can sound so delicious.

Duck – not so much fan of duck meat; the least meat I would
eat
Tofu – one of my fav!
Stinky tofu – popular snack in Taiwan and China; stinky tofu
is indeed stinky; but stinky sounds cute and friendly like baby fart. Stinky tofu
is on another plane of stankiness. It’s like eating garbage inside a sewer on a
hot day. And yet, if you can get past the smell, the flavor is not unlike a
very ripe blue cheese. It is an acquired taste (excerpt from Metro)

Grasshoppers – out of the list, this is the most challenging
to try ‘coz I haven’t eaten any kind of
insect in my entire life lol
The insect is roasted with salt and chiles until they’re
wonderfully crunchy. A squeeze of lime finishes them off. (excerpt from Metro)
